The new SC Cambuur stadium construction is underway with its expected completion in spring 2024. It is the club’s ambition to build the most sustainable stadium in the Netherlands with integrated systems to capture and re-use of rain water, solar energy collection on the stadium roofs, geothermal heating and cooling solutions and waste disposal and treatment on site.
Tarkett Sports is awarded the contract to provide a hybrid turf playing surface and the complete pitch construction. Sports Pitch Systems is subcontracted to provide the undersoil heating and cooling system infrastructure as well as the technical installation up to the stadium geothermal installation.
Ahead of the installation of the concrete floors in February 2023, SPS has installed all the main feed and return pipework between the pitch entry and the stadium installations. The installation of the pitch pipe matrix is due in spring 2024.
