Dutch professional football club Roda JC followed clubs like PEC Zwolle and VVV Venlo in converting their synthetic turf playing surface into natural grass. The tender for the reconstruction works was won by our partner Top Sport & Groen.
Sports Pitch Systems provided the tender input followed by the supply and installation of the undersoil heating system1. Pre-fabrication of 210m of HDPE160/200mm divider manifolds through in-house poly-fusion technology;
2. Installation of 450m of main feed and return pipes;
3. Installation of 32.000m of lateral HDPE 25mm heating pipes, following the contours of a laser graded sand layer and fixed in U-rails;
4. All connections welded by butt-fuse and electro-fuse technology;
5. Installation of 350m of cable ducts for soil temperature sensor cables;
6. Outside of the installation SPS has reviewed the stadium existing heating installation.
