Leading underground soil monitoring specialists Soil Scout and Sports Pitch Systems have agreed a new strategic partnership. The partnership, which has been formalised in October 2021, comes after recent Soil Scout installations in some of Belgian Pro League venues by Sports Pitch Systems.
The strategic partnership offers Soil Scout another opportunity to contribute to their significant worldwide growth. Sports Pitch Systems will cover the Benelux and adjacent German Bundesländer. The Soil Scout technology will be added to SPS Undersoil Heating & Cooling systems as well as in the Subsurface Aeration and Irrigation systems. ‘Via an open API or Modbus connection we can now generate real time data to feed our state of the art “Efficient Heating Strategy” software that controls our heating systems’, Rob de Heer, managing partner at SPS, says. The wireless Soil Scout sensors provide a flexible tool to monitor soil temperature and soil moisture at different levels and locations within the pitch area. This allows SPS to control their heating, aeration and irrigatioon systems more efficiently and tailored to each section of the pitch.
SPS will be actively promoting the Soil Scout technology to the sportsturf and golfcourse industry within the territory stated above and is available for assisting fieldmanagers and greenkeepers in setting up their soil monitoring system.
